Sweet Evil Review

If you are looking for a refreshing YA book, this is it.

Sweet Evil, by Wendy Higgins, gives a whole new concept to Fallen Angels. It is about Nephilim (children of the fallen) work for their fathers, and their fathers represent the seven deadly sins. These children are trained at a very young age to make their father's businesses thrive. Sure, some parts you fell so bad for the characters and what they have to do to survive, but it brings a light on many truths that happen into day's society.

Kadian, son of Pharzuph, aka Lust, must work for his father in make other girls commit sin, to lead them down the path of wrong, so to speak. His life depends on it literally. He has shadows that follow him to make sure he is "working." His father is in to human trafficking and his son is the one that is in charge of "breaking" them into their new life. I felt sorry for both the young girls, but also for him, because if he did not do it, his father was kill him. He also loves anything with legs, breasts, and any girl part, doesn't matter what they look like. He blames it on his DNA. typical male.

Unlike the Hero of the story, the heroine has no idea what she is, she knows she is different, but she doesn't know why. I will not go into much detail, because I want you to read the book, but she is different from all the other Nephilim, that is all I can say, and because of this and how she acts Kadian is attracted to the one woman he cannot have. Literally, they could be killed if the "Fathers" see them together.

Despite the challenges that are against the two and their other Nephilim friends they just want to make their life the best that they can. Through the book you will laugh, scream, curse, and swoon. Yes, swoon. You have to love a man with a British Accent :)

The Second book in the Sequel, "Sweet Peril" is set to hit stores April 30, 2013
